The Jasonian Institute supports creative expression within individuals and communities by providing process-based art workshops that inspire and empower people who are at-risk, under-served and/or with developmental, intellectual differences, mental and/or physical disabilities.
The Jasonian Institute has successfully collaborated with schools, disability organizations, behavioral health partners, residential treatment centers and day habilitation programs. Workshops are conducted in a safe and nonjudgmental environment on site at our studio or at a partner location, encouraging exploration and experimentation of art materials to foster the discovery of one’s unique visual language with the intention of improving self-esteem, identity and personal transformation through creative self-expression. Activities vary per each partner, depending on their clients’ needs. The program runs year-round and varies in duration, depending on the partner organization.
If you are part of an organization that would like to partner with The Jasonian Institute in developing programming, please fill out this form and we will be in touch as soon as possible. You may also email or call us for more information at 310-905-9512.
Jason William Adams (b. 1983) is a multidisciplinary American artist working across drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed-media installation. Rooted in a process-based approach, his work embraces immediacy, improvisation, gesture and material transformation — allowing each piece to end up somewhere between technical refinement and raw expression. With influences that range from indigenous cultures to contemporary pop mythology, he creates works that explore collective human identity, ritual, and the intersection of humor and emotional resonance.
As a platform for the release of limited-edition artwork, collectible objects, and immersive collaborations, The Jasonian Institute is both a touchpoint to interact with the artist’s prolific body of work and a portal for new creative collaboration. Conceived as an evolving archive of artifacts and ideas, The Jasonian Institute offers access to carefully curated bodies of original work produced in intentionally limited quantities.
Alongside his studio practice, Adams has developed a workshop philosophy to advocate for the therapeutic benefits of art as a vehicle for communication and human connection. His teaching approach prioritizes experimentation over perfection, encouraging tactile exploration, spontaneity, and intuitive problem-solving. This methodology has proven especially impactful in collaborative settings involving underserved and neurodivergent communities, where art becomes both a shared universal language and a means of personal agency.
Through an unusually broad range of creative disciplines, Jason William Adams’s work maintains a consistent sense of urgency and authenticity — contributing to the growing international interest surrounding his unique practice and the collectibility of his art.
